What they learn
Students explore how human actions can damage ecosystems and how informed, collective action can help restore them.
They learn about deforestation, species loss, and habitat destruction, as well as Costa Rica’s powerful example of reforestation, protected areas, and community-led conservation.
This experience shows students that restoration is possible and that humans can be part of the solution.
How they live it. In this immersive journey, students witness both destruction and renewal. They see burned forests, disappearing wildlife, and disrupted habitats, followed by scenes of replanted trees, thriving biodiversity, national parks, and ecological recovery.

They also observe local communities, scientists, and children taking part in conservation efforts helping them see themselves in the story of change.
Ecosystems seen: Costa Rican forests, rivers, cloud forests, underwater oceans, volcanic landscapes, and protected islands all environments that have been brought back to life through environmental leadership and collective action.
