A Journey of Purpose, Education, and Connection with the Planet
In 2018, I walked away from a successful 25-year corporate career to follow a deeper calling. As a surfer, diver, and father, a transformative dive at Cocos Island, surrounded by hammerhead sharks, made me realize I could no longer build brands while nature was collapsing around us.
That’s how SmartRabbit-XR was born in Costa Rica, with a clear mission: to connect students with nature through immersive education.
Thanks to visionary partners and the unwavering support of my wife, we’ve impacted more than 120,000 students. Of those 120,000, we have personally funded over 30,000 students and secured sponsorships for another 20,000. While impacting these students, we were able to bring access to children from the most vulnerable and remote communities.
Our VR programs were created with the expertise of scientists, educators, biologists, and the integration of breathtaking audiovisual content from WildImmersion. Captured over years of global expeditions, this partnership has allowed us to build one of the most valuable immersive biodiversity libraries in the world.
SmartRabbit-XR has become the first immersive educational program to reach 12.5% of Costa Rica’s student population: a true global success story. And now, with pride and purpose, we’re bringing this Costa Rican innovation to classrooms across the United States.
