Blocks of Life:
The Path of Extinction.
Standard: ESS3.C – Human Impacts on Earth Systems
What they learn
Students examine how human activities are driving species decline around the world. They learn what a population is, how extinction happens, and how scientists classify species as Vulnerable, Endangered, or Critically Endangered. Through real data and simple math, they understand how biodiversity loss affects ecosystem balance.
How they live it
In this immersive journey, students travel across global ecosystems to observe endangered species in their natural habitats. Using the metaphor of a wall built from blocks, they visualize how each species supports life on Earth — and how removing too many can lead to collapse.
Ecosystems seen
African savannas, Australian forests, and Central African mountain ecosystems affected by human impact.
